Hi there, I’m Mel

Somatic Therapist | Psychedelic Preparation & Integration Support

I’m a somatic therapist and psychedelic support specialist. I’m trained in Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, and traditional psychotherapy.

I’m drawn to innovative, experiential approaches that respect a person’s inner wisdom and capacity for healing. In my experience, these modalities offer the greatest possibility for embodied, transformational change.

I aim to work collaboratively, with warmth, humour, and integrity. I’m based in Muriwai, on the wild west coast of Aotearoa New Zealand.

My Story

I became really passionate about this work through my own healing journey. Navigating trauma and chronic illness brought me to somatic therapy, and eventually to psychedelic medicines. Both have been profoundly meaningful.

I learned, through many ups and downs and a bit of trial and error, that the right support and guidance matter. I also learned to hold hope alongside realism, understanding that healing unfolds in its own way - sometimes giving us what we need, sometimes teaching us something entirely different.

My journey continues through supporting others on theirs.
